More new business news this week: South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust engage with us to develop new Outpatient Booking System

September 29, 2020

EventMAP appointed to develop new Outpatient Room Booking System for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

Hot on the heels of our string of new business wins this year, we are very happy to announce more work with the NHS. This time for the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

The Trust, which provides the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK, has 4,600 staff serving a local population of 1.3 million people. It provides more than 230 services, including inpatient wards and outpatient and community services. Maudsley is also the only mental health trust in the UK to have its own biomedical research centre, which it hosts jointly with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London. This centre serves to translate scientific developments into new ways of screening, detecting, treating and preventing mental illness.

Drawing on EventMAP’s extensive experience of developing complex and highly integrated planning and booking systems, the Trust will replace existing software with a highly automated solution. It will allow the allocation and use of rooms within the service to be optimised, thereby, maximising the number of client users seen by clinicians.

Tightly integrated into the Trust’s existing electronic patient journey system, this new application will allow the Outpatient Service to increase the availability and quality of its provision by fully managing all available room space and clinician resource. It will allow appropriate room space to be optimally allocated based on a huge variety of booking parameters and constraints. Within a large NHS Trust, and particularly for the provision of mental health services, the number of parameters and constraints for the physical estate, clinician requirements and specialist user needs are truly enormous. They require a highly robust system that can efficiently and effectively deliver optimal service use in real time.

We are really looking forward to the challenge of this project, and we will keep you updated as things progress.
