Lancaster University Implement Optime Ceremony to Plan for and Manage Graduations

Having worked with Lancaster University for coming up on 25 years, our respective teams are now engaged in implementing our newly introduced graduation ceremony planning and management software, Optime Ceremony.  This project represents a further extension of our Optime platform which brings modern and efficient leading edge software techniques to the Education market and beyond.

‍“Lancaster University developed functionality within our in-house student records system to support the administration of our graduation ceremonies many years ago. However, Lancaster University ceremonies are not so different from those at other universities. A review of the market suggested that current products were less than a perfect fit and were going to leave some significant gaps.

When the pandemic struck in 2020, our priorities changed, and we realised that updating our own functionality was not going to be as efficient as partnering with EventMAP.

We turned to EventMAP with whom we had previously worked on a similar solution for one of our international partners. With some further development, we realised that Optime Ceremony had the potential to meet our requirements despite a particularly challenging timescale.

The team at EventMAP immediately rose to the challenge and together, we formed an incredibly effective partnership in May 2021, meeting the requirements in time for Lancaster’s winter graduations in December 2021; our largest winter graduation ever as it covered two cohorts of students.

EventMAP have always been extremely responsive, transparent, and cooperative in all their dealings with us, which has established a high degree of trust between all parties. This has been the foundation for a highly productive team that has met all the development targets ahead of time, enabling us to launch graduation registration as planned in October 2021.

On the strength of this engagement, we expect to be working with EventMAP for many years to come, and we very much look forward to the possibility of working together on future projects.”
