Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust Adopt the Optime ERIC Automation Solution, to manage their ERIC Submissions

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is based in Essex, England. It runs three major hospitals across Essex, and a number of smaller community hospitals. As one of the biggest NHS trusts in the country, it serves a population of 1.2million people.

The Trust were administering their ERIC return manually and were looking to automate this process with the use of technology. It was also a requirement that the solution would be integrated to their Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system. Having gone through a tender process they isolated our ERIC Automation Solution as the only one that could meet their requirements. We worked closely with the Trust to submit their ERIC return for2021-22 as part of their EventMAP implementation plan to embed the solution with CAFM going forward.

Using a manual system is error prone, and the Trust have recognised the value of an IT solution that reduces the risk of error, and provides extensive audit data, allowing Trusts to ensure their return is as accurate as possible.”

This is particularly important given the role this information can provide in the drive to a Carbon Net Zero strategy within the estate, whilst also keeping an eye on escalating costs given the current cost of living pressures.
